How You Can Help
VOLUNTEER AT THE FOOD PANTRY
If you are interested in volunteering at the North Reading Food Pantry, there are various ways to get involved. You can help our clients shop, pick up donations in town, or assist with cleaning and stocking our shelves. We depend entirely on our volunteers, and we would love your help.
For more information, feel free to contact us. We are happy to answer your questions and provide details about our volunteer opportunities. Once we receive your inquiry, our Volunteer Coordinator will send you our quarterly sign-up sheet.
Volunteer Requirements:
All of our volunteers must be able to:
Stand for 2 hours
Read expiration dates on food labels (can be tricky!)
Lift 25lbs or more
Maintain our clients' confidentiality
Volunteer Hours:
Monday Mornings: 9:00am - 11:30am*
1st & 3rd Monday Evenings: 6:15pm - 8:30pm*
Fridays: 11:00am - 1:00pm
*Volunteers must be 18+ during these shifts to maintain client confidentiality as these times coincide with client shopping times.
HOST A FOOD DRIVE
Whether you’re an individual, a local business, or part of a community organization, hosting a food drive makes a BIG impact. Not only do you help stock our shelves with high-demand staples, but you also spread vital awareness about food insecurity in North Reading.
Contact Us for help organizing your food drive.
ORGANIZE A SERVICE DAY
Gather your sports team, corporate colleagues, faith community, or friends and family to spend a few hours giving back. From general landscaping and springtime pruning to interior painting, shelf organizing, or deep cleaning, we rely on volunteers to keep our space welcoming and running smoothly.
Contact Us to schedule a group service day.
MAKE A MONETARY DONATION
Financial contributions give us the flexibility to purchase fresh produce, meats, and dairy products that we can’t always get. All donations are 100% tax-deductible and go directly toward purchasing food and supplies for our neighbors in need.
